2006):
The Denver Nuggets re-signed
forward Reggie Evans to a multi-
year contract. Evans, 6-8, 245,
averaged 5.2 ppg and 8.7 rpg
in 23.3 minutes over 26 games
with the Nuggets last season
after being acquired from Seattle
in a four-team trade on Feb. 23.

Nuggets Deal With Bucks, Land
Joe Smith (Aug. 10, 2006):

The Denver Nuggets acquired
forward Joe Smith from the
Milwaukee Bucks in exchange
for guard/forward Ruben
Patterson. Smith, 6-10, 225,
has appeared in 751 career
games with Golden State,
Philadelphia, Minnesota,
Detroit and Milwaukee,
averaging 12.4 ppg and 7.1
rpg. He averaged 8.6 ppg
and 5.2 rpg in 44 games
with the Bucks last season.

The Denver Nuggets signed foward/
center Jamal Sampson to a contract.
Sampson, 6-11, 235, has averaged
2.4 ppg and 3.9 rpg in 50 career
games over four seasons with
Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Lakers,
Charlotte and Sacramento.

Nuggets Sign Rookie Forward
Diawara (Jul. 26, 2006):

The Denver Nuggets signed
forward Yakhouba Diawara to a
contract. Diawara, 6-7, 225,
recently played with the Nuggets
at the Toshiba Vegas Summer
League, helping the team to a
4-1 record. In five games, he
averaged 11.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg and
1.8 apg in 23.0 minutes, while
shooting .553 from the field.

Nuggets Acquire J.R. Smith from the
Bulls (Jul. 20, 2006):

The Denver Nuggets acquired guard
J.R. Smith from the Chicago Bulls in
exchange for guard Howard Eisley
and two second-round draft choices.
Smith, 6-6, 220, was acquired by the
Bulls on July 14 from the New Orleans/
Oklahoma City Hornets, with whom
he spent his first two NBA seasons.
Smith has appeared in 131 career
games, averaging 9.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg
and 1.5 apg in 21.7 minutes.

Nenê, Nuggets Agree to Multi-
Year Deal (Jul. 20, 2006):

The Denver Nuggets re-signed
forward/center Nenê to a multi-year
contract. Nenê, 6-11, 260, has
played in 213 games in his four-
year career – all with the Nuggets.
He has averaged 10.7 ppg and 6.2
rpg in 28.6 minutes in those
contests. He enjoyed his best
season in 2003-04, averaging 11.8
ppg and 6.5 rpg in 77 games.

Nuggets Ink Anthony to Contract
Extension (Jul. 12, 2006):

The Denver Nuggets re-signed
forward Carmelo Anthony to a
multi-year contract extension. In
2005-06, Anthony ranked eighth
in the NBA in scoring with a career-
high average of 26.5 ppg, the
highest rank by a Nugget since
Michael Adams ranked sixth in
1990-91 (26.5). His scoring
average increased by 5.7 ppg
over last season. He also shot a
career-high .481 from the field
and a career-high .808 from the
free-throw line.
